I am trying to play a game (on Steam) and a mod I recently downloaded uses Java 64 bit only. Do I really need both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java installed When I go to get the latest version of Java on their website, it tells you that I need to install both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Java because of the browser I am running. For the purpose of this article, we are going to install JDK 8 and JDK 11 in parallel, and also install maven: sudo yum install java-1.8.0-openjdk-devel java-11-openjdk-devel maven. I downloaded Java tonight and it will not run in 64 bit. I do know Windows says I can support 64 bit. You will be limited to roughly 1500MB Java heap size, which is not big enough for mods in most cases. I do not know the terminology as I am not very tech savvy.
